sour puss

This is a classic thing to do with little babies.

give them an orange for the first time and photograph their
expression. Well we did just that. Can you say
sour puss!?

snow days are here

The first snow of the year!
The boys spent about 2 hours outside
freezing their little butts off.

eyes are the window to the soul

I've always told my son he
has the most beautiful eyes.
He usually ends up smirking and saying, " Yeah right!"
One day he'll believe me.

gobble gobble

So another thanksgiving has come and gone.
What changed this year?
My mom wasn't here to cook us
a mouth watering dinner so
I undertook the endeavor
and here's how it turned out.
I cooked the turkey for 4.5 hours at 325.
I placed an onion and lemons and a stick of butter
inside the cavity and put the whole thing in an oven
bag to cook. It turned out fine...maybe a tad dry
which after the fact I forgot someone
told me to put the turkey in the bag breast side down so the
meat would be moist and dripping. DARN! So maybe next year I will
not forget that very last important detail.

Just so wrong!

So I just saw Twilight.
I've read all the books
and I can say this with
all certainty...
This movie sucked!
The actors they cast to play the parts of the
Cullens were so WRONG in so
many ways!
Let's start with the fact that in the book the vampire characters had pale, white skin...in the movie to acomplish this trait they painted the actors faces with white pancake makeup that was so obvious they looked like clowns half the time and the makeup stopped halfway around their neck and not below their shirt collar. It seems at some point in the movie the director noticed how stupid it looked so they stopped putting the white make up on the actors, but didn't go back to re-shoot the original scenes where they did have the clownish makeup on.
The main characters, bella and edward
had no sexual spark what so ever. I do think who they cast for bella was a good cast for looks, but not for the quality of acting. The actor they cast for edward, good fit for looks, but dude you need to wash your hair. They were trying to play that 'teenage angst'
and it failed so miserably. The acting was very amateurish and stiff they spoke lines like they were reading off of cue cards. The director did a horrible job of conveying the secrecy around the vampire family and their closeness, it also seems the director just wanted to finish the movie because it was taking too long so she hurried some of the scenes. Who cast the actor for 'Rosalie'? In the book she's supposed to be so stunning that it takes people's breath away. The woman they had cast for her part had a bad dye job who wore a lot of spandex and had the biggest butt I have ever seen on an actress in hollywood.
Why oh why couldn't they have asked me for
my expertise and knowledge on this
subject? Oh well, not every
movie is destined to be nominated for an oscar. Your loss
twilight.

the nose knows...

I just saw the movie 'penelope' last night
and I came across a realization...
they could have had
victoria beckham play the
role christina ricci did without
having to do the artificial nose...that would have
saved them a ton of money.
Just saying.
I did like the movie-quirky.

another day goes away

Another day
goes away.
As I've said winter
brings some amazing
skies.
I wait for the next day to see what
nature has created for me.

entropy

en·tro·py (ntr-p)
n. pl. en·tro·pies
1. The tendency for all matter and energy in the universe to evolve toward a state of inert uniformity.
2. Inevitable and steady deterioration of a system or society.

second empire

I don't know how many people
know the type of
architecture of this house.
You may call it the
'munster house'
from that tv show the munsters.
But the name is 'second empire' and I like the roof lines on these
types of houses. The sunrise behind the house looked really nice.

arch form

This shot was taken
through a gazebo that is in
our neighborhood.
I thought the arch was a nice forefront
with the color of the sky in the background.

signs

The sunrise this morning was amazing!
The sky lit up with fantastic colors and
shot across the horizon. I'm not a winter person
but I guess this makes up for the cold of
winter.

sky

just playing around with
some photos.
I liked the clouds in the sky today
so I took a shot of it.

life long renovation

Does the thought,
" hey y'all!
You might be a red neck if..."
come to mind when looking at this picture?
Ok so everyday I drive by this house
they have been renovating it for the last 10years!
The siding started to get put on and then got halfway and then stopped.
The roof had a blue tarp on it for years, and now finally they actually roofed the whole thing!
Now the scoffolding has been rusting away for the last 10 years. Every time I see this house
I say I am going to round up a gang of people to go to this guy's house
and finish the work they started 10 years ago.

sky on fire

I love these shots.
The color of the sky was
that of fire.
I tweak these shots by
adding reflections of the horizon
to mimic a lake in front of the shot.

the farm

It was One of those days.
The clouds sailing by
the blue of the sky.
There's this barn on the way
to work that always stands
out in my sight.
The condition
of the wood seems like it will
fall over with the slightest wind.
But yet it stands
over the years.

what a find!

Ok so I was shopping today
and I just love it when I come
across a great find!
But today was not one of those days.
I came across these
lovely pair of pants!
OH MY GOD!
Who would buy these horrendous
things?
And did someone actually
in the fashion world
think that corduroy and
polka dots go together?
sometimes I lose all
faith in the fashion world!

PETA and the starlette

ok so I guess a few nights ago in france,
lindsay lohan was going into a club and
she got doused in flour by a woman
who was a supporter of PETA,
because lindsay was wearing a fur stole.
So the next day lindsay's girlfriend wrote on her
blog that the woman who doused lindsay
was lower than an animal for dousing her with flour
and that if it weren't for movie stars wearing fur
then PETA wouldn't have anything to protest against.

Am I wrong in thinking that lindsay's girlfriend is a total...

MORON:
 n.
  1. A stupid person; a dolt.
  2. Psychology. A person of mild mental retardation having a mental age of from 7 to 12 years and generally having communication and social skills enabling some degree of academic or vocational education. The term belongs to a classification system no longer in use and is now considered offensive.
In her posting she also states how she has a dog
and her dog is more human than this woman was
for doing what she did.
Ok so how about we take your
dog and stick it in a cage with
500 other dogs and then starve them
and then take the dog and strangle it with a wire
and then cut its fur and use it for a nice pair of gloves!

Fog envelops
cool and wet
my fingers can
almost wrap around
and grab a hold of it.
The deep wetness
fills my lungs and
I expel it's mists out
my mouth.
I can taste it's
flavor
deep of
wood and
earth as
I sigh.

shadows

My shadow
and my son's.
What part is me
and what part is he?
We are of each other
as we will always be
a son and a mother.

Days go by
and the sun sets
too soon.
The wind start to blow
and the clouds
float by.
Each breath I take
chills
my lungs
as winter comes.

Road

Along this lonely road
I drive.
memories I find
come to me
and wander through my mind.
my eyes drift and I wonder
Where the road
has taken me.

King Wrong

If king kong
was a grasshopper,
this would be the final scene where
kong climbs to
the top of the
empire state building.
