gobble gobble


So another thanksgiving has come and gone.
What changed this year?
My mom wasn't here to cook us
a mouth watering dinner so
I undertook the endeavor
and here's how it turned out.
I cooked the turkey for 4.5 hours at 325.
I placed an onion and lemons and a stick of butter
inside the cavity and put the whole thing in an oven
bag to cook. It turned out fine...maybe a tad dry
which after the fact I forgot someone
told me to put the turkey in the bag breast side down so the
meat would be moist and dripping. DARN! So maybe next year I will
not forget that very last important detail.

Good job, Vanessa! Way to go for giving that turkey a "go!" Our turkey (breast only...a whole turkey is too much for just the two of us) turned out well. Of course, I love all the sides that go with it.

Mom cooked the turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, apple pie and we enjoyed it with about 15 friends but no family, too bad for you that you won't visit us here. : (
Congrats on doing the turkey, next year ill be even better.
